County Road 458

about

I see this song as an introduction to the record, a la “Bookends Theme” from the Simon & Garfunkel album. It sets the tone- it’s just me and my guitar, recorded in one take at my family’s cabin in Colorado. Listen closely and you'll hear a little rain tapping on the roof at the end :)

lyrics

This is the end of something, what I don’t know
I got a sad dog and a heavy heart to follow
I left my heart in New York, but found my soul
On a county road in nowhere Colorado
I’m coming back to you love on a jet plane
But I hope you know that I will never be the same
